[IDC Sensor Adjustment]
Overview
Use the scanner to correct the IDC sensor and perform gamma correction.
Printer gamma correction is usually done automatically on a regular basis, but changes in the characteristics of the IDC Center may prevent accurate density measurement. Perform [IDC Sensor Adjustment] if the color of output image is not accurate.

- Perform [Gamma Automatic Adj.].

- This item is displayed on a product equipped with a scanner and HDD. For details, refer to What Is [Administrator Setting]?.
Tips
- The procedure for making adjustments varies depending on the options installed.
- Use white printing paper for this adjustment. If there is color on the paper, the color of the chart changes depending on that color, and the adjustment cannot be made correctly.

Procedure
This section details the procedure for when neither Intelligent Quality Optimizer IQ-501 or Relay Unit RU-518m are installed.
The chart will be automatically measured if either of Intelligent Quality Optimizer IQ-501 or Relay Unit RU-518m is installed. In such a case, you can stop after Procedure 4.
The contents of the chart to be output may differ.

Select the key for the item to be adjusted and press [Print Mode].

Set A4 v paper and select the relevant paper feed tray.

Press Start on the Control panel.
A chart is output.

Place the output test chart on the Original glass.
Set the triangle mark [2] on the chart [1] to the left and print side down.
Move and touch chart [1] firmly against the vertical direction document size index [3] and horizontal direction document size index [4], and set to Original glass.

Place around 10 sheets of white paper on top of the chart and close ADF.

Press [Start] or Start on Control panel.
The adjustment will start automatically.
If an error occurs, the relevant error code will be displayed. Refer to the table below to resolve the error.

Error 2 | Chart is placed upside down | Place chart at the correct position. |
Error 3 | Chart pattern cannot be detected | Use the correct chart. |

Error 5 | Not in standard value range | Re-adjust. |
Error 6 | Non-volatile data error | Check that the memory board is mounted correctly. |
Error 7 | Accessed non-specified memory | Contact your service representative. |
Error 8 | Memory related error | Contact your service representative. |
Error 9 | Program error | Contact your service representative. |
Error 10 | Chart is slanting | Use the correct chart. |
Error 11 | Image header information read error | Contact your service representative. |
Error 12 | RGB data error | Check for the correct chart and contact your service representative if problem does not resolve. |
Error 13 | Argument setting error | Contact your service representative. |
