Overview

Load covers used for perfect binding to the following trays.
  • Cover tray of Perfect Binder PB-503
  • Paper Feeder Unit PF-712
  • Paper Feeder Unit PF-713
  • Post inserter of FoldingUnit FD-503

This section describes how to load the covers to the Perfect Binder PB-503 - Cover tray.

Tips
  • Use [Paper Setting] to configure the perfect binding cover paper settings of Cover tray. For details, refer to [Paper Setting].

Procedure

Pull out the Cover tray.

Open the Feed roller.

Load the cover paper so that the top surface is facing upward.

Load the cover paper so that it is aligned with the Feed roller side of the tray.

When the perfect binding book is left-aligned, load the cover facing the front side up and the cover top toward the back side of the tray. The trimming part is on the left side of the loaded cover paper.

When the perfect binding book is right-aligned, load the cover facing the front side up and the cover top toward the front side of the tray. The trimming part is on the left side of the loaded cover paper.

NOTICE
  • Be careful not to exceed the maximum paper stack height label lines on the tray Side guides when loading the cover paper. Load the cover paper so that it remains below the Paper holding plate fixing lever on the Air nozzle.

Place the Side guides andRear stopper in line with the cover paper.

Hold down the Side guide lock release lever of front side Side guides and place the Side guides against the cover paper.

Next, place the Rear stopper against the cover paper.

NOTICE
  • Make sure the Side guides and Rear stopper are placed firmly against the cover paper. Having a gap between the guide and the cover paper can result in the paper jamming.

Close the Feed roller.

Firmly push the Cover tray all the way in.
NOTICE
  • Do not apply too much force when returning the tray. There may be an unexpected impact on the machine because of weight of the tray or paper causing the malfunction.
