What Is the [RU Curl Adj.]?
Correct the curling (arc-like distortion) of output paper for each paper tray.
This function straightens curled paper to prevent paper jams or paper deviation in post-processing.
Even if a different type of paper is loaded into each paper tray, a correction can be made depending on the characteristics of each paper type.
RU Curl Adjustment has the following 2 correction methods.
- Mechanical method: Passes paper through the curved route for curl correction in order to reduce paper curling. Select a desired intensity from 21 levels of curl correction intensity.
- Humidification method: Humidifies paper and adjusts the moisture level of the paper in order to reduce paper curling.
NOTICE
- The humidification-method curl adjustment may cause curls to deteriorate depending on paper conditions. Confirm the effect sufficiently before starting a job.
Tips
The mechanical-method curl adjustment is always turned on. The humidification-method curl adjustment is recommended when
- the mechanical-method curl adjustment is insufficient;
- paper sticks to each other due to static electricity (there is a static neutralization effect of paper).
