[Deformation]
Overview
Perform adjustments when the entire image is rotated clockwise or counterclockwise or a diagonal skew is detected.
Performing the following adjustment automatically enters the compensation value in [Deformation].
- [Chart Adjustment] of [Deformation]
- [Chart Adjustment] of [Back]
- [Scan Meas.] adjustment
The compensation value can be adjusted manually.
NOTICE
- The following setting is required to use this function.
- Set [Both Sides Adjust / Deformation] of [User Setting] or [Administrator Setting] to [Enable].
Tips
- If a compensation value has been entered on the [Deformation] screen, even if [Both Sides Adjust / Deformation] is set to [Disable], the compensation value information remains. The same compensation value can be adjusted by setting [Both Sides Adjust / Deformation] to [Enable].
Tips
- The figure below shows an adjustment example of [Deformation].
- [Rotate]: When the image on the front side is skewed clockwise, press [Front] - [Rotate], and enter the positive value. The image on the front side rotates counterclockwise.
- [Skew]: If a skew slanting toward the upper right is detected on the front side of the image, press [Front] - [Skew], and enter the negative value. The skew reduces, and the image approaches a normal form.

[Curve] | Entering a positive value lowers the part curved upward. Entering a negative value raises the part curved downward. This adjusts a upward or downward curve of an image. | |||
[Peak of Curve] | Entering a positive value raises the part curved partially to the bottom right side. Entering a negative value raises the part curved partially to the bottom left side. This adjusts a curve to the bottom left/right side of an image. | |||
[Chart Adjustment] | Adjusts the positions of the front and back sides based on the numeric values displayed in the output chart. For details, refer to [Chart Adjustment] ([Deformation]). | |||
[Reset] | Resets the [Front] and [Back] settings. | |||

Procedure (Adjusting the Front Side)

Adjust a distortion of the image to print on the front side.
Prepare a test chart to check a misalignment between the front and back sides before adjustment. For convenient use, set a reference point for measuring the skew on a test chart.
Compare the test chart with the chart output after adjustment, and check the distortion adjustment amount.

Press [Rotate] on [Front].

Use the on-screen keypad or the Keypad of the Control panel to enter the numeric value.
Use [+ / -] to select the positive or negative value.
Enter a positive or negative adjustment value to suit a distortion on the print image.
Adjustment range: [-1.00~+1.00]

Press [Skew] on [Front].

Output a chart of the front side.
Compare the output chart with a chart for adjustments. Check that the distortion on the front side is cleared.
Repeat steps 2 to 13 until the desired result is obtained.
