What Is the [Perfect Bind]?

Perfect Binding is a function that bundles the output paper, glues the spine, and wraps it in a cover for bookbinding.

Using a slightly thicker cover makes a simple book-like form.

This function is useful when you want to create documents with a large number of pages such as a booklet.

NOTICE

• If the number of pages is less than the minimum number specified in [Paper Count Limit for PB] or greater than the maximum number, prints are made without being wrapped with cover paper. For details about [Paper Count Limit for PB], refer to [Paper Count Limit for PB].

Tips

When the body size is [8.5e11v], if binding is performed using the cover fed from one of the following paper trays, the maximum thickness is less than 30 mm / 1.18".

Tips

The maximum thickness is set to one of the following values.

• When [Cover Trim] is set to [OFF]: 460 mm - (216 mm e 2) = 28 mm
• When [Cover Trim] is set to [ON]: 460 mm - (216 mm e 2) - (Cutting amount 3 mm) = 25 mm

Tips

When the body size is [8.5e11v], if binding is performed with the thickness above the maximum, feed the paper from one of the following paper trays.

• Cover tray of Perfect Binder PB-503
• Upper tray / Lower tray of Post inserter (FoldingUnit FD-503)

Set the body and cover according to the use, referring to the following examples.

Both 1-sided printing and 2-sided printing are available for the body.

The binding direction can be set to either Left or Right.

The Low Power or Shut OFF setting time of the system is applied to the Low Power or Shut OFF setting time of Perfect Binder PB-503.
