Color space refers to the range of colors that can be reproduced using a device.
On the computer screen, color data is generally reproduced in an RGB color space using 3 colors: R (red), G (green), and B (blue). There are 2 types of RGB color spaces: sRGB and Adobe RGB, of which the reproducible color range is different. This system supports these 2 types.
Color space standard | Description |
---|---|
sRGB | International standard defined in the IEC (International Electrotechnical Commission) of the international standardization organization. Mostly used for display data. |
Adobe RGB | RGB color space advocated by Adobe Inc., which can reproduce a wider color space than sRGB. Mostly used for print data. |
