[Original Setting] Screen

Overview

Set conditions for the original to scan.

In addition to the orientation and image quality of the original, this function also to automatically set scanning conditions for 2-sided originals, thin-paper originals, and originals with mixed paper sizes.

  • This item is displayed on a product equipped with a scanner and HDD. For details, refer to What Is the [SCAN]?.
Tips
  • Of the functions to be set on the [Original Setting] screen, [Direction] can also be selected using the key under [Direction] on the [Scan Settings] screen.
  • [Separate Scan], which handles the scanned original as a single job, can be selected using the [Separate Scan] key on the [Scan Settings] screen. For details, refer to [Scan Settings] Screen.

Setting items

[Bind Direction]

Sets the binding direction to scan the 2-sided original.

[Direction]

Sets the vertical direction of the original to be placed on the ADF or Original glass.

[Type]

Sets the scanning image quality to match the type of original.

For details, refer to [Type].

[Special]

Set this item when scanning an original with mixed paper sizes, or a Z-folded original.

For details, refer to [Special].

[Thickness]

Reduces problems (paper wrinkles or corner folding) that occur due to the thickness of the scanned original.

[Blank Page Removal]

Prevents blank pages from being scanned when the original contains blank pages.
