Select whether or not to enable the password rules.
Selecting Enable sets the machine to accept passwords specified more strictly than usual, according to the password rules as described below.

Alphabetical characters should be used in a case-sensitive manner.
Only one-byte symbols can be used.
Follow the procedure on Displaying the Quick Security Setting Menu Screen to display the Quick Security Setting Menu screen.
Press Password Rules Setting on the Quick Security Setting Menu screen.
Select Enable or Disable for Password Rules Setting. If you select Enable, set the number of characters for Set Minimum Password Length to a value between 8 to 64.
supplementary explanationIf you press Enable while the default administrator password is kept unchanged, the administrator password does not comply with the rules, or a password with more characters than the number of characters set for the administrator password is entered for Set Minimum Password Length, a dialog is displayed stating that the selection has been rejected. Change the password to one that complies with the rules or enter a password containing the correct number of characters set for the administrator password. Press OK to complete the setting.
supplementary explanationTo cancel the change, press Cancel. In either case, the screen returns to the Quick Security Setting Menu screen.
