  • Both 1-sided and 2-sided copy modes are available for body sets.

  • Select whether to be blank or to be printed, and 1-sided-printed or 2-sided-printed for cover paper. Covers can also be trimmed to fit the thickness of the body set.

  • The binding direction can be either left or right.

  • The Low Power / Shut OFF setting time of the main body is applied to the Low Power /Shut OFF setting time of Perfect Binder PB-503.

  • 1-sided or 2-sided printing is available for cover paper to feed cover paper from any one of Main Body Tray, Paper Feeder Unit PF-602m, Paper Feed Unit PF-707m, Multi Bypass Tray MB-506, Multi Bypass Tray MB-508, Large Capacity Unit LU-202m, Large Capacity Unit LU-202XL, and Large Capacity Unit LU-202XLm. Printing is not available for cover paper to feed cover paper from any one of Perfect Binder PB-503 - Cover Tray or Post Inserter (Folding Unit FD-503) - Upper tray / Lower tray.

  • Cover Trim

  • With Cover Trim specified, the machine trims the cover by the amount automatically estimated from the following formula, in the range from 30.0 mm to 40.0 mm in 0.1 mm increments.

    (Cover lengthwise) - (Body set lengthwise 2) - (Spine cover width)

    If the estimated amount exceeds 10 mm, the machine automatically trims the cover whether this function is activated or not.

  • Fine Adjustment of Cover Paper

  • Cover Lead Edge Adjustment: Adjusts the lateral position of front cover and body set in the range from -20.0 mm to +5.0 mm, in 0.1 mm increments.

    Cover Trimming Adjustment: Adjusts the trimming width in the range from -5.0 mm to +5.0 mm, in 0.1 mm increments.

    Cover Paper Image Shift Adjustment: Adjusts the position of image to be copied on the cover paper in the range from -10.0 mm to +10.0 mm, in 0.1 mm increments when setting Cover Paper Print mode.

When a booklet is created with covers fed from Main Body Tray, Paper Feeder Unit PF-602m, Paper Feed Unit PF-707m, Multi Bypass Tray MB-506, Multi Bypass Tray MB-508, Large Capacity Unit LU-202m, Large Capacity Unit LU-202XL, or Large Capacity Unit LU-202XLm while the body set size is 8.5 11 long edge feed, the maximum thickness is below 30 mm.

Without trimming: 460 mm - (216 mm  2)= 28 mm

With trimming: 460 mm - (216 mm  2) - (Cutting amount 3 mm) = 25 mm

When creating a booklet of the thickness over the above while the body set size is 8.5 11 long edge feed, use Perfect Binder PB-503 - Cover Tray or Post Inserter (Folding Unit FD-503) - Upper tray / Lower tray.
